Where is my data stored?

Your data resides in two places: cached locally in your browser's local storage (so it loads instantly and works offline) and backed up securely in a file called portshot_data.json inside your personal Google Drive account.

Can anyone else see my balances?

No. Because PortShot is a serverless application, there is no centralized database. All network traffic goes directly between your device and Google's official API. No third party, including the creators of PortShot, can ever see your financial details.

How do I export my data?

PortShot uses standard JSON formats. You can manually download your complete database file at any time from the Settings dashboard, or import a previously exported file to restore all accounts and balances instantly.

How does currency conversion work?

PortShot fetches current exchange rates once a day using a public API. If you have accounts in different currencies (USD, EUR, GBP), they are automatically converted to your selected default base currency for net worth calculations.
